As many of you know Resurrection Life Church has partnered with “the 99″ to minister to the Grand Rapids area for the month of July. The 99 represents the number of younger aged people who die daily in America due to things such as vehicle accidents, violence, drug and alcohol abuse, and other preventable causes. I have had the pleasure of spending time with some of the staff of the 99, as well as many of the volunteers from the GR area, and I can assure you that everyone involved wants nothing less than to see our community radically changed for Christ. I am very excited about tonight’s gathering. If you know someone who has been dealing with guilt, or feeling far from God, then you will want to invite them tonight as we discuss “Grace.”
Also we’ll be having a guest from the 99 join us, and will be sharing for a few minutes regarding an amazing opportunity to use your talents to bless others.

Reminder that April 22nd, Access will be off-site as we meet up at Terry Hall Roller Rink for some old skool roller skating. Tickets are only $2 and this includes your entrance and skate rental. We will be having snacks, music, games, door prizes, and tons of fun. This is a great time to invite a friend and make new ones.

WOW! During our open Q&A night following the series, “I Want Your Sex: Giving Our Sexuality to God,” we received an enormous amount of questions via text messaging. I just wanted to update everyone and let you know that we are currently going through all the questions, consolidating those that are redundant, and hope to start posting answers by early next week.

This week at Access (01-07-10)
Jesus told the disciples that if they left family, friends, home and possessions that they would receive 100 times as many in this life. Many evangelical leaders have tried to use this scripture to give weight to the prosperity movement that “guarantees” God’s blessing on one’s bank account if they give to a certain ministry. But is that what Jesus was referring to?
This week at Access we’ll be looking at this text and discussing what exactly Jesus is addressing. What’s interesting is that it has nothing to do with money, but everything to with the church. See you Thursday.

Everyone has a story. Stories are the media that we use to communicate our lives to others. This week at Access I will be sharing a piece of my own story. From divorce, to a suicide, to drugs and alcohol to fuel my emptiness, all my life I had known about Jesus but never knew Him until I met Him lying on a water-bed completely overwhelmed with life and ready to give up.
I wonder how many people that we know are in that very same place. Overwhelmed and ready to give up. Going through life knowing about Christ, but never actually knowing Him. Maybe this person is you?
I want to invite you out to Access this week as we’ll be discussing the difference between knowing or Knowing. This is the perfect time to invite a friend or loved one to Access who needs to encounter the risen Christ.

It has been confirmed, Donut Time 09 will begin Wednesday Sept 16th @ 9am at Marge’s Donut Den. Everyone is welcome to attend. This is going to be an on-going gathering on Wednesday mornings solely as a chance for many of us to connect. There will be no bible study but just good quality fellowship. And as I have always said, Americans like nothing better to talk over than food… and what’s better than a chocalate covered donut… mmmmm…. plus, donuts are cheap since you can get both a donut and drink for under $2.

Due to the bad weather we will be having our end of summer cookout at ResLife instead of Lamar Park. Please come to the church and we will still be having tons of food, games, volleyball, and a movie. It’s a great time to connect, join some food, and build relationships.
